Bulk is no longer collected every month. In Sherwood Forest, bulk will be collected on the dates listed below. You can put out one cubic yard of bulk on each collection day, and the bulk cannot weigh more than 1,000 pounds. If you put out more than this amount, it will not be collected, and you will be subject to a fine of up to $10,000.

Bulk items include furniture, mattresses, appliances, carpeting, brush and tires (no more than four tires). It does NOT include remodeling or construction materials. Do not put regular garbage out on bulk collection day. Do not put items in cardboard boxes. Cardboard boxes must be flattened to be collected. Do not put bulk at the curb earlier than 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to collection or you will be subject to a fine.

During the first two weeks of January 2012 the DPW will collect holiday trees.  Trees must be placed near the Courville container and will be picked up on the regular Thursday trash collection day.  You will be subject to a fine if you place your tree at the curb more than 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up.  Beginning in April of 2012, the DPW will pick up yard waste on the same day as our weekly trash collection (Thursday). All yard waste (leaves, grass clippings and twigs) must be placed at the curb at least six feet away from the Courville container in biodegradable paper bags or a personal garbage can. DPW will not collect yard waste in plastic bags. Do not put yard waste at the curb earlier than the evening before your regular weekly trash collection day.  Yard waste may not be placed at the curb during winter and early spring.
